Dr Davin Lim explains: this is one of the hardest questions to answer. We can not guarantee the success of miradry if Botox does not work. Patients who fail Botox may have other factors contributing to their sweating, including anxiety, or even medication. In theory miraDry should be effective as it destroys eccrine or sweat glands, and works by a different mechanism compared to Botox. All I can give is the probability of miradry working- 9 out of 10 patients will find that it will give a marked and permanent solution for excessive underarm sweating. The flipside is that one out of ten patients will not be very happy with the treatment. In summary, there is no guarantee, only probability.
